We are currently looking for a hard-working individual
who is interested in learning more about sustainable agriculture through
seasonal work as an apprentice on the farm.
An apprentice at Ploughshare Community Farm will have the
opportunity to learn about all aspects of small scale vegetable production
for CSA and farmer’s markets, including field and greenhouse
management and biodynamic practices.
Previous agricultural experience is not a prerequisite. A strong desire to learn and a commitment
to working through the entire season are more important than experience for
success as an apprentice.
The apprenticeship will start in early spring and end
November 1st. We are
not able to provide housing for apprentices at this time, so we encourage
people to apply who currently live in the nearby Louisa or Charlottesville area. We pay $8 to $10 per hour depending upon
experience, and we will provide lunch daily.
Interested individuals should contact Tony Lagana by
email or phone. Click here to go to our contact page.
